Delving deeper into the trends of the new year

January 9, 2019

2018 saw the IT industry testing the waters with solutions like AI and hybrid cloud, and this year will be no different, with many technologies coming of age, including Augmented Reality (AR). Other forecasted trends include the connected cloud, edge computing and blockchain.

AI implementations will likely continue to increase in the coming year. While blockchain is set to emerge as a growing industry trend as people and devices become increasingly connected. And with many major global events like Brexit also set to make their mark, it’s safe to say this year is gearing up to be an exciting but bumpy ride in the world of technology.

In general terms, cloud is now crucial for an organisation’s immediate and future business success. In 2019, companies will need to adopt cloud strategies that are using technology to offer next-generation, connected functionality as well as more innovative services to their customers.

Although many organisations are well on their way to successfully transforming using these technologies, there’s still a way to go yet. The next chapter of innovation requires companies to improve intelligence, expand their digital reach, increase app and service development, and meet increasing customer expectations and security needs.

What does 2019 hold in store for you?

At Q Associates, we keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends. This year, we’re carrying out an independent annual trend survey for IT professionals.

Focussing predominantly on areas including challenges in the new year, digital transformation and IT strategy, our short survey takes only a couple of minutes, but could save you time and money in the future.

As a small token of thanks, we’re putting a £50 Amazon gift voucher into a prize draw for those who take part. To see the bench-marking report’s results, simply opt in on the survey by providing your details at the end. You’ll then receive a copy of the report as soon as it’s published.

Many other IT professionals like you are having their say on what will the new year will bring over the next year. Why don’t you?
