Designed to scale from a Departmental Cluster to PetaScale Computing, packaged as an integrated product. Its radical new unibody chassis/rack design saves space and weight (~500 lbs less per rack when compared to conventional chassis and rack combinations). Its Sun Blade Independent I/O provides the highest I/O throughput per chassis at 30.72Tbps and is the first blade based on an open PCI-E Industry standard I/O architecture.

The Sun Blade X6275 server module has two independent compute nodes that are based on the new Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series for highest density. Integrated on-board QDR InfiniBand leverages Intel's QuickPath technology to provide higher bandwidth and lower latency.
